The Background
Get the Beekeepers Buzzing
When two seasoned beekeepers and our very own operations director, Dave McNeely, teamed up to revolutionize beekeeping, they knew they had something special. With their new hive design, they could dramatically reduce the labor involved in backyard beekeeping. They just needed the world to know it too.
The Brief
Shake Up the Hive Mind
The team came to the table with two starting goals: First, create a brand as crafty as their hive design. Second, help Keeper’s Hive smash their crowdfunding goals on Indiegogo so they could manufacture the first batch of hives.
"That which is not good for the bee-hive, cannot be good for the bee."

The Solution
A Launch as Sweet as Honey
Off the bat, we needed to come up with a name. The entire beekeeping world would be watching, so we needed something that screamed, “We’re here to make your life easier!” Enter The Keeper’s Hive. Straightforward and direct, the name makes it clear who this hive is intended for: The keepers themselves. And when the keepers are happy, so are the bees.
Next on the list was the logo. We crafted a design that was modern and approachable, sleek and simple, just like the hive itself. The aim was to create a brand that felt as easy to manage as the product – no frills, just results.
With branding locked down, it was time to make some noise. The team hit up beekeeping conferences, got rave reviews from top YouTubers, and grew an email list that was buzzing with excitement. By the time we helped them launch on Indiegogo, they had a hive of eager backers ready to support.
"If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive."

The Impact
Hive-Fives All Around
Within two days of launching the Indiegogo campaign, The Keeper’s Hive hit its initial fundraising goal. Not content with just that, we launched targeted Facebook and Instagram ads featuring comparison videos and testimonials that drove home the hive’s unique benefits. It yielded a 7x return on ad spend and doubled the original funding goal.
After a couple years of bootstrapping, in January 2026 we launched a refreshed multi-channel strategy. By pairing high-intent Google Ads (which by themselves drove a 6.13 ROAS) with an agile Meta approach, scaling peak-season reach before pivoting to hyper-efficient off-season summer retargeting campaign that yielded an 11.06 ROAS.
The combined 6-month campaign resulted in a 5.00 overall ROAS.
With an appealing brand, a loyal following, and data-driven ad performance year-round, The Keeper’s Hive continues to prove what’s possible with a little buzz, a lot of strategy, and the right partners.
