The Keeper’s Hive Crowdfunding: Doubling Their Indiegogo Goal
The Background
Get the Beekeepers A’Buzzing
When two seasoned beekeepers and our very own operations director, Dave McNeely, teamed up to revolutionize beekeeping, they knew they had something special. With their new hive design, they could dramatically reduce the labor involved in backyard beekeeping. They just needed the world to know it too.
The Brief
Shake Up the Hive Mind
The team came to the table with two starting goals: First, create a brand as crafty as their hive design. Second, help Keeper’s Hive smash their crowdfunding goals on Indiegogo so they could manufacture the first batch of hives.
“I keep looking at these...can't wait til they send mine!!!!! Worked my bees today and thought of these the whole time”

The Solution
A Launch as Sweet as Honey
Off the bat, we needed to come up with a name. The entire beekeeping world would be watching, so we needed something that screamed, “We’re here to make your life easier!” Enter The Keeper’s Hive. Straightforward and direct, the name makes it clear who this hive is intended for: The keepers themselves. And when the keepers are happy, so are the bees.
Next on the list was the logo. We crafted a design that was modern and approachable, sleek and simple, just like the hive itself. The aim was to create a brand that felt as easy to manage as the product – no frills, just results.
With branding locked down, it was time to make some noise. The team hit up beekeeping conferences, got rave reviews from top YouTubers, and grew an email list that was buzzing with excitement. By the time we helped them launch on Indiegogo, they had a hive of eager backers ready to support.
The Impact
High-Fives All Around
Within two days of launching the Indiegogo campaign, The Keeper’s Hive hit its fundraising goal. Not content with just that, we launched targeted Facebook and Instagram ads featuring comparison videos and testimonials that drove home the hive’s unique benefits. The result? A seven times return on ad spend and double the initial funding goal. Not too shabby for a bunch of beekeepers.
What started as a crowdfunding campaign turned into a launchpad for a sustainable bee business. With a strong brand, a solid following, and a product that’s truly the bee’s knees, The Keeper’s Hive is poised to be the next big thing in beekeeping. All thanks to a little buzz, a lot of strategy, and the right partners.
